AfrikaBurn - South Africa
AfrikaBurn is set in South Africa’s Karoo desert. The art is earthy, the structures are mostly wooden, with an undeniably African flavor. The landscape here is majestic, the desert not as temperamental as its Nevada cousin. There is a timelessness and a stillness, a gentle swaying and crackling emanating from the vegetation when the wind rises up and whistles through its dry branches.
The scorched earth has been kissed by a thousand sunsets, like a warrior bending to the ground in reverence, while it blushes a deep red. The sun sets abruptly here and the darkness and all the lights of the cosmos are wheeled in like a stage backdrop on cue, to steal the show.
