Black Rock City in Nevada has a special tug as the origin point where all Burns began, leading the way for all the Regionals to emulate. An ethereal place that springs up yearly like Brigadoon: a magical place only accessible for a brief moment in time.

 It is a vast expanse of desert wilderness, a beautiful bowl of powdery white dust, smoothed and stretched out like a lunar painting. In this space 80,000 hopeful hearts give their all. Running into the unknown, the delicious unstructured madness. Here all emotions blend and are accentuated. We laugh till we cry, weep with exhaustion, fall in love a million times, feel disappointed, overstimulated, mad and lost. We play intensely, and feel overwhelmed by nostalgia in trying to bottle it all up and take it away with us. We live so immediately that we feel others living next to us, eyes dancing, hearts swaying, blood racing, senses overloaded with beauty.
